Appalachian Pointing Lab's Heidi is a Certified Pointing Retriever and Junior Hunter out of GMPR Kodiak Cody. Her pedigree includes many hunting titles.  She ranges around 60 pounds. Heidi really is an all-around dog. She has an uncanny ability to know the situation and how she must perform. She is a fantastic upland pointer and retriever, a great water retriever, a backpacking and hiking buddy, a fantastic home companion, and a good farm dog. She understands the difference between play, training, hunting, and farm work and has the "switch" so many Labrador owners are searching for. Her athletic ability is a thing to behold.   She is very well-behaved with my young children.  Heidi earned CPR and JH with a 100% pass rate.

Heidi excels in the upland environment. As she has aged and grown, she shows an important perspective to understanding a running bird compared to a holding one. I have seen her point, hold, know the bird took off, track him 200 yards, and re-point the rooster in a holding spot again awaiting for me to flush. She is a true upland machine and she loves it!

Heidi is now retired from the breeding program and is living out the gundog and family life with us.
